DUSAN JELIC HAS TO LEAVE ALICANTE

Dusan Jelic, YU GRE center, who played this season for Red star, and was cut one month ago, finally managed to find the club, ready to pay big transfer fee to Red star. Dusan signed with Costa Blanca Alicante, team from ACB league in Spain. But in meantime, Red star, changed Management, lost Vladimir Radmanovic, and stayed with no good players (Prekovic is badly injured too). Also, the Yugoslavian market for this season is finished (dead line was 24 th January), and Red star has no possibility to sign new players. In that situation, Management decided not to allow player to go, and insisting to see him back in Belgrade, ASAP. Unfortunatelly, player has valid contract till the end of the season 2002/03, with his option to leave after the season 2001/02, and he can not leave the team in this moment without LOC issued by Red star.Unfortunatelly, when Management of Red star, decided about the amount of transfer fee, the player did not make written agreement, and now he has two option: to stay in Alicante and practise, with no right to play, and after the season to face again with Red star or to leave the team to renegotiate his contract, and finish season in Belgrade. Bad luck for very good player this season.
