REACTION OF VASSILIS SPANOULIS ON DRAFT 2004

VASSILIS SPANOULIS, PG of Greek national team and BC Maroussi, was awaked today in the morning by his agent, getting informed that he was drafted in the second round - no. 50 by Dallas Mavericks and after his rights were transfered to Houston Rockets. Here you can find what his impressions were: "I am very happy and proud to be drafted this year. But in the second hand I m sorry litle beat, because I had not time to come earlier in the States and do more work outs. Fortunatelly or unfortunatelly, my club finished very late, and I had possibility to stay there only for few days. I did not want to stay long in States, because my primarly target is to be in the national team for Olympics, and I wanted to be fresh on the beginning of the training camp. This is the reason why I worked out only with one team, refusing requests of 4 other teams, which invited me to come. I do not intend to play next year in NBA league, because I would like to stay one or maybe two more years in Europe, get more experience and improve my skills, and be ready for NBA. But, I have not time now to think about NBA, because medal from Olympic games is only in my mind till the end of August."
